County of Bedford, Virginia
Home MenuChildren Services Act (CSA)
In 1993 Virginia implemented the Comprehensive Services Act (currently called the Children's Services Act), a law designed to help troubled youth and their families. State and local agencies, parents, and private service providers work together to plan and provide necessary services. These combined federal, state, and local funds are managed locally by the Bedford Children's Service Act (CSA) staff. The focus of Children's Services Act (CSA) is to provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment for area children. Everything is designed to provide a family-first, child-centered, community-based service to high-risk youth and their families.
Children's Services is a local governmental agency, that works with parents and private services providers to plan and provide needed services. Each locality is required to have at least (2) interagency teams including Community Policy & Management Team (CPMT) and Family Assessment & Planning Team (FAPT). Learn more about each team and how to apply to serve on the team below.
