Board of Supervisors

Bedford County, Virginia is governed by a seven-member Board of Supervisors, one from each magisterial district. Supervisors are elected for four-year terms, which are staggered at two-year intervals. At the first meeting of the year, the Board selects one of its members to serve as chair and another to serve as vice-chair.

County Administration

The Board of Supervisors is responsible for hiring a County Administrator to lead the daily operations of the county and supervise county staff. County Administrator Robert Hiss has been in this role since 2019.
