Our Broadband Lookup Tool was created specifically for broadband projects that are the result of Virginia Telecommunication Initiative grants. Input your address and the map will tell you if you are marked for service by one of the three providers: ZiTel, Shentel, or RiverStreet Networks.

Note: This map shows project areas for VATI projects only. Projects that are private investments (such as Verizon or Lumos expansions) are not included in this map.

It’s important to note that the exact routes for these footprints have not been finalized by all of the ISPs. In some cases, the ISPs will expand beyond their original footprint and "pick up" streets that are close by.

If you are close to a project area, we recommend contacting that project area’s ISP to see if they have plans to make a connection on your street.

Also, if broadband is already offered at your address, you will not be marked for a connection on this map.

Check the FCC's broadband map to see which internet options are already available for you.

If you are marked for a connection by one of the Virginia Telecommunication Initiative project ISPs, they will be contacting you in a variety of ways when they are closer to connecting your address. For example, you may receive a printed mailer to your home and/or a flyer on your doorknob.

Future ZiTel customers: Join their mailing list for updates.

Future Shentel customers: Pre-register for additional updates and check availability.

Future RiverStreet Networks customers: Visit their Bedford County homepage to view a construction map and register your address.

Future Verizon customers: check for availability on their website.

Current contract end dates for each project are below. Services would be available to resident (at the latest) in the below timeframes:

• ZiTel: March 2025
• Shentel Project 1: Sept. 2025
• Shentel Project 2 (Cifax/Sedalia): July 2025
• Riverstreet: Sept. 2025
