The Recreation Advisory Board is established and empowered to review and advise upon existing and develop new proposed programs, policies, fees, and procedures deemed appropriate for the equitable, efficient and effective coordination and delivery of sports, athletics and other recreational opportunities for citizens of Bedford County of all ages. The Board is advisory in nature and its findings and recommendations are implemented in cooperation with and at the discretion of the Bedford County Department of Parks & Recreation and the Board of Supervisors.
There are seven members on the Recreation Advisory Board. Each member is appointed by their respective Supervisor.
The Recreation Advisory Board meets at least four times a year at the Parks and Recreation office (1257 County Farm Road, Bedford).
The Bedford County Treasurer and Commissioner of Revenue offices will be open on Saturday, November 23, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. to give residents another day of the week to pay personal property/real estate taxes (second half). Taxes are due by Dec. 5
