Recreation Advisory Board

The Recreation Advisory Board is established and empowered to review and advise upon existing and develop new proposed programs, policies, fees, and procedures deemed appropriate for the equitable, efficient and effective coordination and delivery of sports, athletics and other recreational opportunities for citizens of Bedford County of all ages. The Board is advisory in nature and its findings and recommendations are implemented in cooperation with and at the discretion of the Bedford County Department of Parks & Recreation and the Board of Supervisors.

There are seven members on the Recreation Advisory Board. Each member is appointed by their respective Supervisor.

The Recreation Advisory Board meets at least four times a year at the Parks and Recreation office (1257 County Farm Road, Bedford).

Bedford County administrative offices will be closed on Thursday, July 4, 2024, in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

The Waste Management Facility and gated waste collection centers will also be closed.

The Bedford Area Welcome Center will be open.
