There have been several calls into the Bedford 911 Communications Center in reference to there being alot of smoke and ash in the area. This is coming from 3 large prescribed burns in neighboring jurisdictions (Roanoke County, Craig County and Amherst). The smoke and ash conditions will last for the foreseeable future. Please be aware of your surroundings, if you see flames please call 911.
